Which License is Right for You?#

ETLBox offers four main licensing models:

• 🆓 PERSONAL, for testing and personal use
• 🏢 COMPANY, for company-wide use
• 📋 PROJECT, for one customer project with a key bound to that project
• 📦 ENTERPRISE OEM, allowing Redistribution as part of your product

Let’s break down the differences.

🆓 Personal License#

The PERSONAL License is perfect for developers who want to explore ETLBox or use it for personal projects.

Key Features:

• No Cost: Completely free to use for testing and evaluation.
• All Features Available: Access all ETLBox components with no functional restrictions.
• Row Limit: Limited to 5,000 rows per DataFlow.

Best For:

• Testing ETLBox in non-production environments
• Personal projects or learning purposes

For unlimited testing, you can request a trial key that removes the row limit for 45 days.

🏢 Company License#

The COMPANY License is perfect for businesses that plan to use ETLBox internally where you control the deployment environment.

Key Features:

• Per-Developer Licensing: One license per developer, valid across multiple projects within your organization.
• Unlimited Internal Deployments: Use ETLBox in unlimited applications and on unlimited servers within your company.

License Details:

• License Duration: 1 year, with annual renewal.
• License Key: New key provided upon renewal.
• Source Code Access: Available as an optional add-on.

Best For:

• Internal business applications
• Companies with direct control over deployment environments

Licensing Agreement:

• Governed by the Standard End-User License Agreement (EULA).

📋 Project License#

The PROJECT License is for freelancers and small agencies that build a one-off solution for a single customer. The license key is bound to that project, so you can use ETLBox while you build it and then hand the finished project to that customer.

You are not selling an ETLBox license to the customer. The key covers this one project only. The customer may run it inside their own organization. They may not resell it, ship it as their own product, or offer it as a service to others.

Key Features:

• Handover to One Customer: Deliver the project to that customer for internal use.
• No Resale: The customer may not redistribute the project or sell ETLBox as part of their own product.
• Unlimited Within the Project: Unlimited data volume and unlimited use inside that customer and project.
• Not for SaaS: A cloud, multi-tenant, or on-demand service needs ENTERPRISE OEM.

License Details:

• License Model: Annual vendor contract, priced against the project. Request a quote.
• License Duration: 1 year, with annual renewal.
• License Key: New project-specific key for each customer or project.

Best For:

• Small agencies and freelancers delivering a one-time customer project
• Handover of that project to a single customer for in-house use
• Cases where a company-wide developer license or a full OEM license is more than the engagement needs

Licensing Agreement:

• Governed by the Standard End-User License Agreement (EULA) with a project-specific key.

📦 Enterprise OEM License#

The ENTERPRISE OEM License (also known as the Redistributable License) is designed for companies that want to embed ETLBox into products distributed to external customers or offer it as part of a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution.

Key Features:

• Redistribution Rights: Package ETLBox with your product, no end-user license checks required.
• White-Label Friendly: No requirement to mention ETLBox in your product.
• SaaS Deployment: Use ETLBox as part of a cloud-based, multi-tenant, or on-demand service.
• Source Code Access: Available as an optional add-on.

License Details:

• License Model: Annual base fee + per-customer fee.
• License Duration: 1 year, renewable annually.
• No License Checks: Distribute without needing end-user activation.

Best For:

• Software vendors embedding ETLBox in commercial products
• ISVs distributing applications to external clients
• Companies offering ETLBox as part of a SaaS solution
• Organizations deploying ETLBox in cloud-based environments for external users

Licensing Agreement:

• Governed by the Redistribution EULA.

Feature Comparison#

Choosing the Right License#

• Choose the PERSONAL License if you’re testing ETLBox or working on personal projects.
• Go with the COMPANY License if you’re using ETLBox internally or within your organization’s infrastructure.
• Choose the PROJECT License if you deliver a one-off project to a single customer, want the key tied to that project, and that customer will use it in-house without reselling it.
• Opt for the ENTERPRISE OEM License if you’re embedding ETLBox in commercial software distributed to third-party customers, or as part of a SaaS solution.
